Environmental alliances

Sustainability requires a collaborative approach. We work with many parties in anticipation of tighter regulation, emissions trading, third party audits, or the increasing role of AI and other new technologies. Innovative bodies like REBA, RE100, and Future of Internet Power (FoIP) are crucial in helping us develop new sustainable customer programs like our Green Power Pass. We commission a lot of research and analysis with hardware and software partners in the ICT delivery chain. Mainly this is talking to hardware vendors about server characteristics. On the software side we explore how you can write software that optimizes the efficiency of the server. For instance, we are active members of the Lower Energy Acceleration Program (LEAP) coalition with the Amsterdam Economic Board and Green IT Amsterdam where we are investigating the impact of eco-mode on servers.
